Stand 13.06.2021
Durch den SIMstarter NG P3D darf ich die neuen Versionen auf meinem Entwicklungsrechner sehr schnell ausprobieren und installieren. Das führte diesmal dazu, dass ich so schnell wie nie zuvor, meinen Simulator von Version 5.1 HF1 auf Version 5.2 aktualisiert habe. Nach ein paar Tests, poste ich hier erste Eindrücke und meine aktuellen Settings.

So bin ich vorgegangen:
- SIMstarter NG P3D HTML Export der SimConfigSet Settings
- %AppData%\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 in Prepar3D v5.1 HF1 umbenannt
- %AppData%\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 in Prepar3D v5.1 HF1 umbenannt
- %ProgramData%\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 in Prepar3D v5.1 HF1 umbenannt
- PREPAR3D v5 über „Software“ deinstalliert (Lizenz aktiviert lassen)
- PREPAR3D v5.2 installieren (als Administrator)
- Simulator über Software Icon starten und Standardflug laden
- Simulator beenden
- Mit WinMerge alle alten Konfigurationsdateien mit neuen vergleichen und meine Änderungen übertragen. So stelle ich sicher, dass meine Einstellungen bleiben, aber Neuerungen an anderen Settings (z.B. neue Variablen) durch die neue Version mit in den Sim übernommen werden.

Das ist keine Anleitung, sondern die Dokumentation meines Weges.
Erster Eindruck
Ich bin sehr begeistert von P3Dv5.2. Bisher hatte ich keinerlei Probleme auch mein GSX Script lief auf Anhieb. Mein Eindruck ist, dass der Simulator flüssiger läuft. An den Stellen, an denen ich vorher beim Taxi in EDDS von JustSim Microruckler hatte, habe ich jetzt keine feststellen können. Auch im Flug waren die Ruckler nahezu weg. Es wirkt alles viel flüssiger. Zudem hat mich gefreut, dass offenbar auch die Performance mit Dynamic Lighting verbessert wurde, da meine Frames in EDDS von 30 auf 20 in den Keller gingen, wenn ich Nachts an dem Airport die Flugzeuglichter (Taxilight) eingeschaltet habe. Der Framedrop lag jetzt bei 2 FPS.
Auch das Autogen und die Wolken scheinen besser auszusehen. Bisher die beste P3D Version, die ich auf meinem Rechner hatte.
Aber wollen wir den Tag nicht vor dem Abend loben. Wer nicht über genügend IT-Kenntnisse für einen Rollback verfügt, der sollte vielleicht noch abwarten, bis genügend Testflüge und Erfahrungen gemacht wurden.
